The Nutbourne Vineyards Sussex Reserve Magnum’s 2018 use a blend of Bacchus, Huxelrebe and Reichensteiner grapes to produce a distinctive wine that is full of character, it’s lively and jumpy in the glass, but at the same time dry, aromatic and crisp. ![]() The Vineyard is considered one of the premier wine producers in the South East, offering a range of estate-grown still and sparkling wines which are highly competitive worldwide. The “Terroir” at Nutbourne is a unique and ideal wine growing environment – a warm microclimate protected by the South Downs, gentle south-facing slopes and the same fertile greensand soil as the Champagne region in France. For example, the multi-award-winning Nutty Brut has won a gold medal twice at the international wine spirit competition!! Unlike commercial vineyards in the UK, the winery was built 10 years ago, which ensured Nutbourne were producing high-quality wines which have now gone on to win many of the countries most prestigious wine awards. ![]() In 1991 the Gladwin family bought the vineyard and since then have expanded the vineyard and introduced new varieties such a Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The Nutbourne wines are unique, they are a pioneer in the UK wine industry, with 20 acres of vines being planted with Germanic varieties (Bacchus, Huxelrebe and Reichensteiner) in 1980.
